Games are still on as scheduled. Plan on playing your game today.  If the weather takes a turn for the worse, please plan on meeting with your team at your scheduled game time to collect uniforms, as they must be turned in today.  We will be at the fields today to collect the uniforms.

ANOTHER SEASON COMES TO A CLOSE

  We are coming to the end of another season. I hope you have enjoyed this season and have some wonderful memories to carry with you. I hope you and your child have learned a little bit more about the game of soccer and sportsmanship.  I also hope you have all made some new friendships along the way.

 EPLW looks forward to seeing you all back next year for a great season filled with wonderful memories.

                                                                                                    

SPECIAL THANK YOU

The Grounds CrewJim Lamb once again led a small posse in the initial layout of the fields. Jim's posse included Bryan and Jody Schmeltz, Joe Deklinski and daughter, Annie,

Cheston Zimmerman,  & Karin and Bob Eichelberger. This is a tremendous task and takes many hours. 

Karin Eichelberger, Bryan and Jody Schmeltz, and Kathy Anderson made sure the fields were lined for the games each week.  

The Referees:  We had a small core of volunteer referees this year, some doing multiple games each week. 

Special thanks to the following:  Bryan Schmeltz officiated 16 games; Kathy Anderson Officiated 14 games; Todd Wendorf officiated 11 games; Jacob Montgomery officiated 10 games; Jim Lamb officiated 9 games; Mike Webster officiated 8 games; Andrew Mauer and Jeff Crider  each officiated 7 games; Bill Stains and Dan Spurlin each officiated 6 games.

There were 15 additional personnel who helped cover games.  Thanks to all who stepped forward.

 

The Referee Assignor:  Many thanks to Kathy Anderson who worked very hard at trying to get referee coverage for the games throughout the season.

The Coaches:  Thank you for giving your time and energy to the children and teaching them the game of soccer and sportsmanship.  We hope you had fun too!

The Team Parents:  Thank you for all you did for the coaches and the children.

The Concession Stand Workers:  Lead by Bob, Cheston, Karin, and Deb, each week a new group assumed control of the concession stand.  Great job to everyone who volunteered his or her time.  A special thank you to Bob Hatten, who had the task of making sure the concession stand was always well stocked.

The Candyman:  We can never thank Karin Eichelberger enough for this tremendous task that she takes on. Thank you Karin, you do a wonderful job.

Uniforms: Thanks to a small group of ladies who will collect, clean, and inventory the uniforms so that they will be sparkling clean for next year.

The Board Members:  Jim Lamb, Cheston Zimmerman, Bob Hatten, Deb Lamb, Karin Eichelberger, Tom Beers & Dan Spurlin, thank you for keeping it all together.

The Commissioners: Joe Deklinski, Karen Hivner, Deb Lamb, Bryan Schmeltz, and Eric Groff.  Thank you for calling, collection, running, listening, and doing whatever else the board threw at you.

The Players: Thanks for a great year. Hope you all had fun.  See you next year.

    CANDY MONEY 

   If someone still has money to turn in , please do so Saturday, November 15th   All candy money should be turned into Karin Eichelberger.

  Any player still owing money on Sunday, November 16th, will not receive their awards with the rest of the team. 

  

EXTRA! EXTRA!

   We have some leftovers from previous years. These items include, t-shirts ($5), sports bags ($10) shorts ($5), polo shirts ($10), henley shirts($10), and blankets ($30).    If you are interested see Deb Lamb at the fields on Saturday.  Deb is usually in the concession stand.  You may also e-mail her at eplwsoccer@gmail.com if you have any questions.

   These items will also be available in the lobby on Sunday, November 16th.

 

  

UNIFORM & EQUIPMENT RETURN

 Uniforms must be returned to your coach immediately following your game on Saturday, November 15h.  Please remember to bring along extra clothing to wear home!!  Parents if your child will not be at the last game, please make sure your child's coach receives the uniform before Saturday, November 15th.  Players who fail to turn in their uniforms will not receive their awards with the rest of their team on Sunday, November 16th.

Coaches and/or team parent, please make sure you know the name of the child who did not turn in uniform.     

Coaches are to return all equipment along with the uniforms.  Collections will be at the equipment room, near the concession stand.

 

 

Awards Ceremony

  The Awards Ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 16th, at the East Pennsboro High School.  The presentation will be held in the auditorium.  Please remember no food or drinks are allowed in the auditorium.  

   The following are approximate times for age group presentation:

4 - 5 Division I  ~~  1:00

4 - 5 Division II ~~ 1:30

6 - 7 ~~ 2:00

8 - 9 ~~ 3:00

10 - 11 ~~ 3:30

12 - 15 ~~ 3:50

  Please remember that these times are approximate, we will do our best to keep things moving.  It is recommended that you arrive about 10- 15 minutes before your scheduled time.


REGISTRATION

  You may register your children for the 2009 Fall season at the Awards Ceremony. We will hold registration in the lobby.  Fees are $25 per player, or $35 per family.  Fees are due at the time of registration.  New players must show a copy of their birth certificate.  Registration fees are non-refundable.  

   Player must be 4 years old by July 31, 2009, and cannot turn 16 years old on or before December 31, 2009. 

    There will be additional registrations held in the spring.  These dates will be published when established.

  You should have received your child's pictures from Liftetouch in the mail.  If there are any problems with your package you should contact Lifetouch at the following:

EPLW BOARD FOR 2009

  The past two Saturdays, we were accepting nominations for the 2009 EPLW Board.  The board consists of seven members.  We only received seven nominations for the board for 2009.  The following are the names of those who will serve on the EPLW Board for 2009:  Karin Eichelberger, Bob Hatten, Tom Beers, Cheston Zimmerman, Jim Lamb, Bryan Schmeltz,  and Deb Lamb.


RONNY POWLEY CENTER

   Saturday, November 15th is the last day EPLW will accept donations to help out the Ronney Powley Center.  We have received a small amount of donations.  We were hoping for a greater response. We have  collection boxes located in the concession stand.  A list of acceptable items is listed below.  Please keep in mind that even one item donated to this wonderful cause will make a difference in someone's life.
